From Sci Dev Net:
Held in Salvador, Brazil from May 5-8, the 13th International Public Communication of Science and Technology (PCST) Conference considered the relationship between social inclusion and effective science communication. PCST aimed to raise questions about how to create more comprehensive engagement strategies in the developing and developed world and how to improve citizenship in science and technology. This blog post discusses four topics that were repeated throughout the conference: language barriers to effective science communication, questions about the value of social media, the relationship between science communication and journalism, and the broader purposes of science communication. More information about the conference can be found here.
