From Washington Post:

Over the course of the next couple of months, three hands-on science museums in the D.C. area will be opening or unveiling updated spaces in an effort to expand the hands-on, children-focused institutions in the area. Kid International Discovery Museum, opening at the end of October, is a combination community art studio and laboratory. For the past few years, the Children’s Science Center has been running a “museum without walls” and is now opening a place called “the Lab” at Fair Oaks Mall in Fairfax. The Spark!Lab at the National Museum of American History has been undergoing renovations since 2012 and is reopening in July with a bigger space with an invention hub stocked with tools and interactive opportunities.
